“Caral is a spectacular archaeological center composed of Huge pyramids built over 4500 years ago. We invite you to explore this magnificent city, whose antiquity is only comparable with Egypt, China and Mesoamérica.”

Our tour start with the pick up of our clients from their respective hotel and drive up north around 3 hours (184km) in a private vehicle towards the Supe Valley.

Caral have already defined as a city for its organization, extension and diversity of buildings. Also it composed for a set of monumental buildings, with different ceremonial and administrative functions, and where important architectural and technological innovations were developed.

Day 2:|Transfer to Trujillo & Sechin on the way|

The characters represented in the monoliths on the facades are of two kinds. The warrior-priests (dressed with a weapon or scepter) and the dismembered victims or their remains (mainly heads, limbs, skewered eyes, intestines, vertebrae and viscera), creating a macabre scene. All these figures represent humans, without the presence of demigods or animals

Another theory is that the site was a laboratory for high anatomical studies, which would explain the explicit exposure of various parts of the human body, such as viscera and bones. Another position holds that it is the representation of a popular rebellion bloodily crushed by the ruling elite.

For Federico Kauffman Doig it would be a staging of human sacrifices, within the framework of a cult that sought to ensure the livelihood of the population and counteract famines caused by droughts or other onslaught of nature
